Running late on Mother’s Day? First, get yourself into shape! We all only have one mother, and each one of us owes her for bringing us into this world! Next, do not fret! Here at Organic Soul, we’ve got a quick, healthy Mother Day gift list!
Number 1.An Organic Garden Start up Kit
One great gift idea is to get your Mom a start up organic garden kit. Consider the size and location of the garden; a neat little organic garden box is a great idea for indoor gardens. You can make the box yourself (for a bit of that loving child flavor), or pick up premade alternatives. A small bag of healthy, organic soil with some organic seeds is just a few weeks or months away from bearing delicious herbs or vegetables!
Number 2. Yoga Classes or Supplies
Don’t forget the mind-body connection! A few free yoga lessons or supplies goes a long way, both for physical and mental well being. Yoga helps promote a sound body and is seen as a great means for effective meditation. Find a good local studio in your city or invite Mom to pick out her favorite supplies!
Number 3.Organic, Dark Chocolate
You don’t want to go overboard with candy (and your Mom probably doesn’t want you to either), but that doesn’t mean this Mother’s Day can’t be sweet. If you’re going to go with chocolate, be sure to go with a fair trade, organic source of chocolate. Further, keep in mind that the darker the chocolate the better. Dark vs. light chocolate largely speaks to the balance between cocoa and sugar. More cocoa the better!
Number 4. Love and Support
Sound cheesy? It may be, but it is also incredibly important. Ditch the Hallmark card and write a letter. Make a phone call, but also make a conscious effort to listen, ask important questions, and offer love and guidance. There’s nothing more important than providing this support.
Number 5. Organic Flowers
Finally, consider getting Mom some nice organic flowers. These won’t have pesticides on them, so when she goes to smell them she won’t inhale chemicals! They will also be more sustainably grown and harvested. Although flowers die, the sentiment behind them doesn’t have to. Pick up some organic flowers on your way to the house! It’s a quick fix for anyone who has been lackadaisical about Mother Day!
Good luck and Happy Mother’s Day!
