I am a single mom from Manila who just moved to California with my 6-year-old daughter, Kaya. I named her after a Bob Marley song.

My passion is writing prose and poetry. I love creating things and sharing them with the world.

A Time of Transformation

Some time around 2010 I experienced a period of depression. I was working nights for 11 years and that took its toll on me.

I left my high-paying job in the corporate world as AVP for a call center, and started doing prayer, meditation… and writing.

It started out with just very brief expressions on Twitter that later on turned into poetry, and from poetry I ventured into essays and short stories. I wrote for a little more than a year and a lot of what I wrote, based on experience.

Reaching Out

Around mid-2011 I woke up with this restless feeling…this toxic feeling. It suffocated me, like I’ve built these invisible walls that kept me from growing. I was tired of writing about just myself. I wanted to expand my work.

I began seeking out other people to share their life experiences with me. I figured, I have the audience and so why not use this as a platform for others to shine too. Plus, I’m tired of what I was seeing in TV and the papers… I’m tired of hearing questions that obviously only benefit one person or entity. I knew I would love to hear people talk about themselves in a deeper more personal level and not be ashamed of it.

Starting Soulspeak

I’m happy that my readers have started to embrace Soulspeak and somehow made it a part of their lives. It’s funny because when I don’t post any for a few days I get notes on my mail saying when the next post will come out.

I want to dedicate my life feeding people with soulfood, because in turn I feed myself…I figured, if I want joy, I need to give it. I intend to keep this writing going way as long as I have the strength and the capacity to do it.

We all have a voice and our own unique and special message to share.

This whole time period has presented us with all the technology and all the means to do this—to create , to explore different channels more than we ever had and share the energy of love with one another. This is the dream that moved me to create Soulspeak. Hopefully more people follow suit.

Spreading the Words

In line with this dream, I’d love to really branch out into different channels and find more ways in which I can be of service to the world. I don’t know how or when it will happen, all I know is that I’m ready to do what I love. I’m ready to explore my full potential along with people who share the same vision.

A Wide Reach

I have a wonderful audience —a wide range of readers but mostly those seeking healers, artisans, authors, teachers, musicians , travelers and inspirational resources.  I have written more than a thousand quotes, 200+ poems, 300+ essays, 8 short stories and 2 e-books since 2010.

I am so grateful because this audience has grown dramatically and still grows dramatically to this day. I’m especially excited about my upcoming book “Drops of Petals : 101 Poems from the Heart,” which will be available soon on Amazon, Barnes & Noble Apple Ibooks (Paperback and Kindle).

On top of all of this I savor every moment being a mom. That’s my primary ‘job’. It’s such a joy watching my daughter grow and learn and experience life along with me.

It’s been an exciting journey of creation so far and I can’t wait to see what is there to come.
