The hustle and bustle of the holidays can often leave you short of breath, which makes it all the more difficult to keep up with your health and wellness.
Exercise is one of the best ways to stay healthy over the holidays, and it is a great way to relief stress and anxiety.
Set A Schedule
You can make exercise a priority if you plan it definitively into your schedule. Don’t just exercise when an opportunity presents itself—actually write down when, where and how you plan to fit in your fitness at least five times a week.
If you can’t make it to a yoga class or don’t have time to get outside for a run or go to the gym, plan on exercising within the movement of your daily routine. Just get your heart rate up to circulate energy and vitality into your body.
Give A Gift
You can use the holidays as a reason to commit yourself and others to a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Give someone else, or even yourself, the gift of a yoga studio or gym membership. Even if you only give one month, it can be enough to create motivation to sustain an active life.
Sometimes we all need just a little extra inspiration. Share your intentions for health with others so that you can work towards your fitness and wellness goals before you start getting wrapped up in New Year’s resolutions.
Be Joyous
Have fun and be creative with the type of exercise you get over the holidays. The are plenty of ways that you can sweat and stretch without ever having to go near a gym this season.
Try an activity out in nature to clear your head and move your body. Snowshoeing, skiing and ice skating are all activities that provide good sources of exercise, and they can be shared with friends and family. Let an active life be the fuel for your sustained vitality.
