Kids Konserve was developed by two Mothers who wanted to set an example of conservation to their children while empowering them to remember to be examples of change for the future.
The company focuses on a waste-free lunch kit but doesn’t stop there. Their site contains informative links that guide you with steps you can take to educate your family and children on the importance of going waste-free. I find we continually need reminders of how our wasteful habits are affecting our planet. By following these links, we can learn of the destructive consequences our choices can have on the environment.
Kids Konserve has also developed awareness educational programs and fund-raising opportunities. Through their Waste-Free Challenge for schools they will help you promote waste-free activities and offer their reusable waste-free lunch products at a of 25% off in April to honor Earth Day and Earth Month. The goal is not only to reduce trash generated by schools but also to have children experience real-life concepts of environmentalism. “Environmental project-based learning will help children connect to the natural world, will help them feel like they are making real contributions to their community, and will help them integrate in-class learning with hands on experiences.”
Kids Konserve describes their Lunch Kit as “echo-chic” and is appealing to both children and adults. The whole line is made from non-leaching, non-toxic, BPA, PVC, phthalate and lead free materials. The lunch kit was a hit in our household partially due to the stylish design and the high quality and functionality of the product. The basic kit comes in a recycled cotton sack with a recycled aluminum name tag. It contains a 16 ounce, 304 food-grade stainless steel beverage bottle, two 304 food grade stainless steel food containers, a BPA and phthalate-free “food kozy” used for wrapping sandwiches and a attractive cotton napkin. An ice gel pack can be ordered separately with a recycled plastic no-sweat ice pack cover. It is 100% biodegradable and can even be planted in your garden.
Take time to search through the links on the Kids Konserve site and once again reminded of the serious implications our wastefulness can have on our environment.
Kid Konserve lunch kits and reusable bags are a great way to remember practicing your 4R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover).
In celebration of Kids Konserve 2011 Eco Resolutions promotion, we are giving away two (2) Kids Konserve Waste-Free Lunch Kits to our loyal readers (retail value of $45 each).
