Organic almond butter hummusThis organic almond butter hummus has a creamy, nutty texture. It has a satisfying, lightly sweetened almond taste with a hint of cinnamon. The process of making this hummus can be a fun, creative craft to do with your children, but the real fun part comes with the option of decorating it with funny vegetable faces. Kids can pick the types of vegetables they want and then use their imagination to create their own masterpiece. Plus it’s a great way to get kids to eat their vegetables! Fun, delicious, and healthy. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of organic garbanzos beans, 16 oz, drained and rinsed
  • 1/3 cup organic almond butter, plus one tablespoon
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon organic raw agave nectar
  • 6 organic dried figs

Ingredients for the face (optional):

  • Organic orange bell pepper
  • Organic cucumber
  • Organic micro greens
  • Organic broccoli
  • Organic veggie chips

Directions:

Combine all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend tell it becomes a smooth creamy consistency. If it’s too thick for you, add and blend 1 teaspoon of warm water or more until desired consistency.

Decorating the Hummus:

For the face shown; veggie chips for the ears, cucumber and broccoli for the eyes, micro greens for the hair, an orange bell pepper for the mouth and a cucumber cut into a triangle for the nose. You can also experiment using different vegetables, fruits, or chips for lots of other fun face ideas!
