organic lavender raspberry jamThis lavender raspberry jam is a great recipe. There is no need to boil and no added sugar. It’s quick, easy and so tasty with the added hint of lavender. Spread it on crackers with cream cheese, or create a tasty peanut butter and jelly sandwich!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cup organic raspberries (if using frozen, make sure they are completely thawed)
  • 1 organic Medjool date, pit removed
  • 1 tbsp organic fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp organic chia seeds
  • 1 ½ teaspoon organic lavender flower

Directions:

  1. Use a blender and blend the raspberries, date, lemon juice, chia seeds, and lavender until smooth.
  2. Next pour into a jar and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the chia seeds to thicken the jam and the flavors to develop. Jam should last 3-4 days refrigerated.
  3. If you want to make the jam sweeter, add more dates!

  1. Eating organic food is a great step towards a healthy lifestyle. Unfortunately, many organic fruits and vegetables are a bit more costly. To combat the increased cost, and to ensure that the food you are eating is 100% organic, you may want to start your own organic garden.

  2. LOL I started my own garden for that very reason! Only… the raspberries and strawberries never make it back into the kitchen to make any dessert/jam. Plus, with the ongoing battle with slugs (I refuse to use chemical baits) I can appreciate why organic produce are more costly.

  3. We joined one of those farm coops and while they are about $27 dollars a week, which is pretty high, the veggies are so fresh they almost sparkle. Most grocery store organics look on the old side.
