Shelter from the Storm

Written by Jesse Richardson on May 01, 2011 with No Comments

Get a glimpse at the realities of school children in East LA. Many lose hope at a young age and question whether it’s even worth it to go on. While this may sound like a midlife crisis, it also rings true to the alientated and insecure youth of today. Shelter from the Storm highlights one teacher’s efforts to change all that – starting with a positive, engaging classroom demeanor.

Text from the video:

Ms. Reifler is a one of a kind elementary school teacher who educates her students on the importance of living a life that matters. Her classroom gives her low-income, east Los Angeles students a brief refuge.
