Breathe & stretch program, light yoga, hiking, walking our dog. Basically, I thrive from the calm exercises. Hey, the occasional playing outside with the neighborhood kids is awesome too!

Some people need the motivation of a group exercise. Some like solitary exercise like jogging on a forest path or in the hills. Others may need motivation from a trainer, pushing them to higher levels of fitness. In the past I always exercised alone. Now I cannot. I go with my son to the LA Fitness – lift weights and run on the treadmill. Reminds me of being back in PE.

Over the years I’ve picked up some strengthening exercises, yoga positions, and cardio boosters and managed to keep a daily routine with them. It can last anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, but I literally do this EVERYDAY, and it’s actually really easy to motivate myself because I’ve taken all pre-concieved notions about what an exercise routine should be like and done my own thing.
I love yoga, but when I’ve tried a daily yoga sequenc practice, the kind you would do with an instructor, I loose enthusiasm fast. I think it’s really important to explore different kinds of ways to work-out, strengthen or stretch and customize a few things that you really enjoy doing. Anything that gets the blood going can keep you from feeling like a puddle of chunky, dried glue.

Easy – a little time? Take a walk. Lots of time? Go cycling! Love the fresh air and endorphs~~

I take a kettlebell class three times a week as well as cycling and yoga. Kettlebells are amazing. The class is an hour, but even just 20 minutes of a kettlebell workout is equal to 20 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of weight training combined. It’s a core, cardio, and weight training workout all in one. Plus, it’s fun. The benefits of cycling and yoga go without saying and let’s not forget the importance of meditation to a healthy and energized body.

I love yoga but besides that, our house has two sets of stairs that each have 15 steps. I go up and down these steps at least 20 times a day feeling the burn in my calf muscles as I reach the top. I count that as exercise!!

Yoga, running/walking, and strength training. I think it’s important to encompass all three different areas.

I love to run! I am not a group or class person. I prefer to be by myself. I get my endorphins going by getting in a run!!!

I love having a physical job so I could exercise while working. Now, at 48 yrs, I picked up running and love it!

All of the above suggestions are good commentary. A combination of forms of exercise is very good. Someone is starting a class at our friendly neighborhood Studio combining Yoga, Dance, and Martial Arts soon! … my FAVORITE way? DANCE! (as in SHAKIRA!)
