Let me start by saying this review will be totally biased: we love Living Nutz, and it’s been like this since we first tried their Bodacious Banana Bread Walnutz about a year and a half ago. So, when we were asked to review an all new flavor – Apple Krisp Karma– we jumped at the opportunity.
There sat the bag of crunchy, yummy, flavorful pecans and walnuts – staring us down as we tried to determine which bite deserved to be the first. The nuts, while very similar looking to the other flavors, had a slight red tint to them, likely from the apples. The smell was delicate but powerful (not to mention perfectly timed for the holidays).
The taste. Oh, the taste was something else.
Tough little apple chunks were clustered on the walnuts and pecans, which were dusted with cinnamon, Agave Necter, Coconut Butter, and hints of vanilla. Almost like a snack-sized equivalent of a cross between apple pie and pecan pie. This made for a sweet yet balanced crunchy snack, that packs a powerhouse of flavor and spunk. And, of course, these ingredients are organic, raw, and very healthy. Plus, a portion of each sale goes to local environmental initiative.
