Staying healthy and young is important, so let’s explore the top 5 daily tips, both cliché and unique, and really see what they can do for us.

Number 1. Make a joke, Have a laugh

Throughout the day, it is important to have a few good laughs. Not only does laughing mean you’re feeling happy, but it also contributes to your overall health. Believe it or not, laughing is a form of exercise. We breathe deep (similar to an aerobic exercise), and if the joke is funny enough, we can actually ache from working  our abdominal.

It also helps lower our blood pressure and stress level. Between both of these things, laughter helps us relax more. It eases muscle tension and is a vent for emotion. The best part is everyone enjoys a good laugh – so next time you see the opportunity, make a joke. Just be sure it’s tasteful.

Number 2. Eat an Apple

You know what they say, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Well, there is truth in the many. Apples are a great source of energy. They are low in calories, but had plenty of fiber and carbs to make you feel full. In addition, it has antioxidants that help regulate free radicals as well as lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and raise good cholesterol (HDL). Finally, apples, according to their different skins, are made up by healthy vitamins. An apple truly does keep the doctor away.

Making it a point to eat fruits and veggies daily, no matter what the type, is highly suggested. Dates, for example, are an extremely healthy snack that been around for ages!

Number 3. Stretch and Work out

Stretching probably gets the least attention from the average American- a sad reality, no doubt. The benefits of stretching are real. First, it helps prevent accidents from occurring. Daily stretching helps us stay loose and limber, meaning we are less likely to be physically hurt from an accident. Essentially, the more loose and active our muscle fibers and tendons are, the less likely they will tear.

Equally so, daily exercise is important. Exercise helps us feel better every day, helps keep our body healthy by staying fit, and helps protect our overall health by managing fat cells and lowering blood pressure. Between stretching and exercising, you can increase your lifespan drastically. The best thing to do is to get into the habit of doing it daily, especially with your loved ones – even if its your toddler!

Number 4. Drink Water

Water is essential. It is the lifeblood of all living things, and we should never take its power for granted (too serious?). The truth is that we must consume enough water or our body starts to shut down – dehydration can be serious and lead to equally serious complications if not dealt with properly.

It should come as no surprise that drinking water helps maintain homeostasis. It also helps cure headaches, digestive problems, and helps our bodies maintain energy. If you’re doing #3 (stretching and exercising, that is), drinking plenty of water is crucial. If you’re dehydrated, you’ll be zapped of energy, and any attempt at exercise will end in failure.

Number 5. Do a good Deed

Finally, do something good. But why should we do something for others if we don’t get anything from it? Well, first, we shouldn’t look at it that way; doing something good for otherPin Its can be extremely rewarding, so we benefit too. Second, even if you don’t feel like you gain something tangible, say money, you can still have a sense of accomplishment or pride knowing you did what needed to be done.

Doing good deeds helps us feel better about ourselves and it can completely change another person’s day. Plus, if you believe in it, doing good deeds daily helps you accumulate some useful karma down the line. All that good energy comes right back your way.

Tackling the List

Try to work all five of these ‘to dos’ into your daily activities and you’ll start to notice a difference immediately. Remember, these are daily activities, so do them every day! Happy living!
